New Years is a time for new beginnings and New Years resolutions. Acceptance of Jesus, faith in him as Lord and Savior is our life’s New Years celebration and can come at any time of the year. Our old stoney heart, filled with sin, shame, and worldly philosophies, is removed. We receive a new heart alive to Father God. Then the Holy Spirit
enters our life. He guides and leads us into all righteousness. We each receive a new beginning…a fresh start. All our sins are forgiven.
Learning to walk with Jesus takes a commitment or resolution on our part. In this newness of life, we learn to look at life through God’s eyes. The process of relearning to walk in His ways, allowing them to become our ways can take a short or long time. It is part of our New Years resolution to be more like Jesus each day.
This New Years, if you still hold onto some of your old life, let it go. If you struggle with forgiving others, shame, old pains and bad memories, bad habits or addictions, nail them to the cross of Jesus. Embrace Jesus and allow him to release the bonds of your old life. Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit want you to live free from all guilt and shame. They want your life to be filled with unspeakable joy.
If you have walked with Jesus for many years, allow God to refresh your love, hope, and faith. Let us acknowledge though we have upsets, struggles, and pain, we have Jesus. He will never leave or forsake us. He will make even bad things or events work for our good…even if we don’t always see it at the time.
In this New Year, open your heart and allow God to refresh your new beginning. This New Year, let us resolve to share the love of Jesus and walk in his path with joy and love.
We hope you and yours will have a blessed and prosperous New Year in Jesus.
