In war, some battles are won, others are lost. Our spiritual battle is fought daily, and we too win some and lose some. But it’s important when we fail, we stand up brush ourselves off, get back on track, continue to fight the good fight, and never lose hope.
Satan is a formidable force, he’s had thousands of years to perfect his attacks and many co-workers. He and his minions will use every trick, deception, or lie to cause us to fall. As we have said before, they will do anything to kill, steal, and destroy our faith and hope in Jesus.
We battle against temptations of selfish desire, greed, lusts of all kinds, gossip, sexual sin, and many more. They all come from either our adversary or our own negative wants or lusts. If we allow them to take control, they will shatter our hope and decrease our faith.
We must learn to walk in the spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to take control in times of struggle. He will not let us down. He will give us the ability to say, ‘no’ to sin. With each success, our hope and faith will increase and our ability to overcome will rise.
Jesus is Lord. He has already won the battle. He is victorious over our enemy. So never lose hope and you too can walk in the victory.
Romans 8:24-25 (NKJV) 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Romans 15:13 (NKJV) 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
