Many societies around the world think Christians are weak and use faith as a crutch. Our culture ridicules and belittles all people of faith, but a special hatred is aimed at Christians and Jews. The reality is we get great strength from Jesus. Through our faith in him we can stand against all who might come against us (even those in the spiritual world we cannot see). Even with God’s help, faith is not for the faint hearted.
Jesus never promised us a problem free life filled with riches, all our hearts desires, and without illness or injury. In fact, he knew we would have trials and tribulations. He even said, ‘the world persecuted me, it will persecute you.’ One thing he did promise though, he would never leave or forsake us. We can stand on this promise and take comfort in it. As we go through trials, tribulations, and persecution, we know Jesus is with us. He turns all things together for our good because we love him and are called according to his purpose.
Currently, we are in the lull before the storm. It’s important all preppers, Believers or not, need to take advantage of the relative peace and continue preparing at a fast clip. Though things seem calm now, things can change overnight. We are building up our stocks of necessary items, building farms, shops, chicken coop, greenhouse, and fences. The more we get done now, the easier our lives will be later.
While physical preparations are important, preparing your heart is even more so. We will need Jesus more than ever in the dark days to come. Relying on Jesus is relatively easy now. Sure, many of us have problems, illnesses, and hard things to deal with. But they will pale in comparison to the dark days ahead. If our hearts are not ready for the onslaught, we will flounder and fall. Learning to lean on Jesus and draw from his strength and guidance makes a huge difference both now and in the future.
Bible study and prayer must head the list. Meeting with like-minded family, friends, and acquaintances to encourage one another. Brain storming ideas and plans is another vital means of preparing. Please, stay focused on our goal…total preparation of our hearts and homes.
