Sunday, one of the worship songs was “Come, Lord Jesus, Come.” A thought ran through my head…”Do people really mean it?” Most people invite Jesus spiritually, “Lord come into our presence, accept our worship and praise. Fill our hearts with Your Word
and our minds with Your Ways.”
But let’s look at it in a different way. What if this request, Come, Lord Jesus, come ushers in His return? Do people realize their plea would bring pain, plagues, death, and an increase of evil such as the world has never seen? Do they understand there will be divisions in families? One member reporting another who will not comply with the new world government’s mandates?
I know there is much debate over pre-tribulation rapture versus mid or even post rapture. Many believe Christians will be taken away before the horrible events foretold in Revelation come about. But what if our rapture is mid way or even at the end of the seven years of evil? After all the following verse indicates believers will be still on the earth when the Beast reigns.
Revelation 13:7-8 (NKJV) 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
What if not being raptured, having to suffer, along with watching loved ones die is what causes the great falling away? (A coming time when many Believers turn away from their faith in God/Jesus.) Many ministers and pastors teach Christians will be taken away before any real evil occurs. What if it doesn’t happen? What then? Would you stand firm in your faith? Or would you get angry and turn your back on Jesus because you were taught incorrectly or misinterpreted scripture?
Each person must resolve his beliefs in his own heart. No one knows when the End Times will come. All the signs points to a major event coming very soon, but whether it is the beginning of the seven years Revelation describes, only Father God knows. Just as no one knows when the rapture will occur.
We are planning for the worse…living through the coming evil, no matter if it’s just a difficult period in history or the evil times Revelation speaks of. If it’s time for Jesus to return, we’re hoping for the best: pre or mid tribulation rapture. At any rate, we’re preparing both spiritually and physically for the long haul. We encourage you to prepare your heart and your home also.
Whether for his spiritual presence or his physical return, but I can sincerely say, “Come, Lord Jesus, come.”
